she lives in a
rose-tinted glass
stained by
the blush rising
in her cheeks and
the swelling of her lips
where he kissed her
just a little too hard.

she lives in a
lilac-tinted glass
stained by
the bruises blooming
in her cheeks and
the swelling of her lips
where he kissed her
just a little too hard.

she lives in a
black world where
nothing reflects
for the stains from
her mascara running
drip onto the mirror
and she cannot see
herself any longer.

the lilacs are blooming
and the roses are swelling
because he kissed her lips
just a little too hard.
