Favorite Quote:
Ships are safe at harbor, but that is not what ships are for.

The mountains are calling me
I must return
They once lit a fire in me
That continues to burn
I wish to climb up their sides
And dream atop their tips
I wish for their majesty to hold me
And their beauty graze my lips
The mountains, oh, they cry to me
They plead, please do return
So much they have to offer me
So much, from them, to learn
I wish to approach their greatness
And see their towering outline
I am desperate to return to them
If only for one last time
The mountains have appealed to me
For the mountains I yearn
The mountains are calling me
I must return

The author's comments:
After visiting the Smoky Mountains and than later the Rocky Mountains, I wrote this poem to express my anxiousness and anticipation of returning to the mountains again.
