Pride is winning the state championship
Hard work of the season coming together
It smells of blood, sweat, and tears
Pride is the color of freshly cut grass,
Black symbols of strength,
And the pink , that reminds people we are lady warriors
As you’re running towards the try line
Pride swells up inside you,
Knowing that you have helped score a game winning point
Pride is the sight of your teammates
Shouting in pure joy
It sounds like “who’s going to bring that blood and pain!”
Pride tastes like bittersweet victory
Pride, is playing rugby!

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this piece because of the pride I felt not only in my teammates and myself, but the pride of winning our state championship. Rugby has taught me so much in life and it inspires me everyday to push myself and test the limits of what I thought was possible.
