Drip drop
From the bottle
Drip drop
Into the glass
Drip drop
Down her throat
Drip drop
Making its way to her brain
Drip drop
Slowly taking over her
Drip drop
Getting rid of the mother I once knew
Drip drop
Killing her slowly
Drip drop
Go the tears down my cheeks

The author's comments:
My mom has been fighting against her addiction to alcohol for a long time... It's really hard to watch her relapse and fade away over and over again. This poem may seem stupid, but it expresses what I have experienced.
