As You Slept
I listened quietly as you fell asleep,
and I shadowed but with my heart for you to keep.
I wrote and read as you mumbled towards peace.
With your cute sounds I wrote a loving piece.
I read and you'd mumble an adorable sound.
I kept at it with a soft tone until my love started to surround.
You peeked your calmness so I read one last poem.
It described a dream I wanted you to see on your own.
One where it was perfect love between you and me.
A wish and a dream of a complete fantasy.
So I spilled my heart as my soul silently wept.
Giving you my all, including my heart to be kept.
Only to dream again but a new one where you'd seen it all as you slept.
