It seemed the man I met that night?
Was so damn unafraid
Of the night and me?
The way we talked over a dark wood table?
And danced like time was an object we threw off?
Like inhibitions and honesty
-
What a shame you decided to love me
What a shame you are a barricade with
Nothing on the other side
If I found someone new
I’d still be lonely and you’d still be you

Discourse?
Makes me feel like the end?
Unadulterated love for?
Someone you made in your head
The memories are much too fragile to bear?
Too beautiful at whom to fearfully stare
Freak the hell out?
And want me -want me back?
Kiss me?
And tell me why you’re sad

You can’t comprehend
what i do
for you
Spilling drinks on myself
just to take a look at you

I laugh

You don’t love me

I love and for that should the stars give infinite damns
To tell why you throw me across the walls, hooked to a chain in your hand

You wouldn’t want me
Because I want you

Because just like a pill
I’m something you can’t chew

This is the last poem I will write about you
It will end like a couplet
Short and with a tear on both ends
We will end like a sonnet
Your bodies taking too much intimacy for granted
-
More men talk and walk like you than
You-
Are finite
Like a small diamond
praying for his turn in the Sky
