"The bird of paradise alights only upon the hand that does not grasp." -John Berry

I took in the lake
A mysterious blue,
A mystic green stained the bottom
And the ebony shadow
Of a fish swam fast
But not too fast
For above flew the mighty heron
That silently gauged its next victim’s point
And dove so calmly
And ended the mighty peace to
The lake
A mysterious blue
With a mystic green that stained the bottom
And again the ebony shadow
Of a fish swam by
So oblivious
To the death
That consumes not only
Our world
But rather touches, merely scrapes
The outskirts of peace
Surrounding
A place
Of pure
Beauty

I find it amazing that whatever we see everyday becomes natural. Being on the lake for a few days, I've realized death is apart of a beauty so pure, that nature will always accept it. Nature will always be like that, while we as people never will. Which is a good thing of course, it just shows how truly different we are compared to the rest of nature.
