Lost Light
Once upon a time, it shined unashamed.
A gleaming yellow and red beacon,
setting fierce and relentless fire to darkness.
Shadows shied away with their tails between their legs.
Mysterious seen clear as glass.
It is now hidden.
Blown out by shame and stress.
Swallowing it whole, darkness takes revenge like a bitter ex-wife.
An innocent beacon
Is now a lost damaged soul,
this light is a faint ember,
That once burned in a brilliant fire.
