Drowning
Drowning in your own tears
The world will fill up soon
You know he did it.
Everyone else knows, too.
He’s guilty.
You need Justice.
Justice should dry your tears eventually
Sinking slowly, in your tears
breathe out of your nose
You’re trying to scream
JUSTICE, save me, I’ll drown
But your tears are now above your mouth
They need evidence.
You are face to face with him
cold room
cold pews
cold judge
cold-faced
cold heart
Just as you’re about to freeze
fully underwater, in your sorrow
Justice rang out its loud cry
GUILTY
The plug is pulled
from the drain
And the tears you had cried for Justice to help
flowed out
The room warmed up
warm room
warm pews
warm judge
warm-faced
warm heart
Justice has saved you today
You are no longer swimming in your own tears
Thank you, Justice, you whisper
