What if?
Some of the very best stories started with the two magical words,
What if?
What if the sky were pink and the cat were purple?
What if the house turned into a tree?
What if the dog were a flee?
What if, what if we could fly!?
Missed are the days of adventure and pretend,
of dreams and possible things.
So long to the days of what ifs’.
If I could propose but one more adventure,
What if we wound a clock back and time moved back with it?
What if we could go back to a time when you were here,
and once more we could laugh and play.
After years spent trying to grow up,
the rest of them will be spent winding the clock
and asking,
What if.
