Rattled Strings
I strum the guitar in hopes that a beautiful tune might escape
its strings.
I realize that all that comes out and will come out is noise.
A sequence of unplanned,
unsatisfying notes.
But this sooths me.
Maybe its because it sound like its trying to get something out.
Words.
A series of messy,
scattered thoughts.
It reminds me of what goes on in my head.
Maybe what i find most soothing are those notes that drift quickly,
and quietly back into silence.
Because it reminds me to slow down.
To stop.
To be quiet.
