Hope, Just a Dream
Hope, just a dream.
Screams heard in the distance never fall silent.
Fear of the unknown controls our every motion.
Surpassing all reason,
We cannot decode the truth,
Until the little were left with falls apart.
Watching as our hopes crumble and disappear,
We have lost sight of what is real,
And what was only that of a young boy’s imagination.
The truth jerks us back to what lies ahead.
Head held high we search for life,
But none can be found.
Faith slowly slips away,
Overcome with despair,
An actually of nothingness is all that remains.
Surrounded by uncertainty, right and wrong are blurred.
Life itself is tutored, choices have disappeared.
There is no future.
I’ve heard that every new beginning,
Comes from some other beginnings end.
But what if only the end remains.
What if this time there is no beginning, maybe not even an end?
And so were left staring at a blank wall,
With neither an answer nor a question.
So I sit alone with my thoughts.
Wanting perfection, but can the idea even be contrived?
We settle, maintaining what is in front of us.
And there lays a sole dream, always waiting for us.
It is a dream of happiness,
A dream of life lived simply, but meaningfully.
For in this dream, only two things are known.
Light will always overwhelms darkness,
And love will always conquer hate.
But we ourselves survive to destroy this dream.
Because there is no bright light waiting for us
No love to call our own.
And so were left hoping for no more than the wind to pass us by.
Just an hour till death
