Most people say
The best time of the day
Is when the sun rises
Shining its golden light of metaphorical happiness
Over everyone’s eyes.
I disagree
I think the best time to be awake
Is when the moon shows its face.
After the sun retreats behind the horizon,
It lights the symbolic evil of night
With its silvery glow,
Lighting my room with magic and insomnia.
I lay awake
Gazing at the open window and the glowing moon
And I dream of tomorrow’s moon rise.
