The Girl in The Clay Mask
I see myself in the mirror
A mess to say the least
An innocent little angel once
Now consumed by the beast
In a world filled with judging
People watching every move
An attempt to meet societies measures
There’s nothing left to prove
I lift up that clay mask for a second
Looking at the repulsive monster underneath
I cover myself back up for public
Shining my white teeth
This has become a routine now
Being who I’m not
I guess I’m just not good enough
In a world where I’d only rot
I am alive but I am dead
A soul locked in a jar
A million and five desires
A hope for a shooting star
I dream of one day breaking free
From all these constraints and limitations
I dream of taking this clay mask off for good
Proudly showing the world that I am a work of art
The finest of creations
