Stars
Within you changing my life
I have lost my touch.
You had me and loved me
And it was too much
But you helped me
I learned from you
I learned patience
I learned to stand up
And within that
We made our own paths.
I remember your stars
They spread out like butter on your skin
Washing over your shoulders like water
I remember the universe
It would say hello to me
Within eyelashes and slit eyelids
I remember your skin
As smooth as paper,
As light as helium.
But I let you go
And you floated into the air
I forgot about you
I forgot what we had
I forgot our past,
I'm sorry
That's all.
And within my apology
Please just forgive me.
