A corpse
I’m at her funeral
Standing by her mother’s side
Her mother contains the screams inside
She lost her only daughter
I lost my best friend
As I think about her
The wind touches my skin
The hairs on my arm stand straight up
I can feel her presence
Yet she’s so far away
I should have been there for her
She needed me
But I was inconsiderate
I let the world destroy her
She is nothing
Only a corpse left to rot
