Red is passion and love and warmth

I see red when I see silky roses

I feel red flowing under my skin

A burning reminder of your lips caressing like the cool wind

I see silky roses

She loves me

She loves me not, sings the last petal

Drifting dankly to the dark dusty floor

Drifting like red red tear drops

Scattered across the the carpet like old red wine stains

You’re stuck

Forever

You’re embedded in my skin like a drunken, hastily inked tattoo

Tattoos of roses and lips across my skin.

I hate roses

But I loved them, only because I knew you did

And I loved you

Roses are so cliche,

They say, I’m sorry, forgive me, love me, remember me

Remember me

Because to me you are more beautiful than the reddest rose

And whenever I smell their sweet perfume

I think of you and how you smelled like home

So much sweeter

You could cry and I swear a garden could bloom from the love pouring out of you

She loves me not, written out for all to see

I hate roses

But I still have you tattooed all over me
