The Regatta
Oars are set, at the catch
The official’s wait, the crews sit ready
The flag is raised, Attention, row
Through their starts and their tens
Pulling away from the other shells
The oars are bent through the stroke
The coaches and crowd chant and cheer
For their team through the race
The rowers work for every seat, every bow ball
They cross the line, where they regret or cheer
They paddle away in triumphed or grief
While other crews approach the blocks
Were they sit ready, at the catch
