Helplessly Drowning
There she was
Her petite, fairy-like figure
Just barely visible in the twilight
Moving beautifully as she
Crept through the darkness,
Leapt past the light.
Her light footsteps
Tiptoeing delicately as if frightened to brush the grass below.
Her silhouette approaching with grace
And her bright eyes shone
Like the clear, cloudless night sky sprinkled with a labyrinth of scattered stars
Curiosity pushed away the curtains covering the windows that were her eyes
and I could see
The sea of thoughts
She helplessly drowned in
And as she drew closer,
Her hushed tone as quiet as the night,
She softly whispered in my ear,
"Goodbye,"
and she saved herself.
