You may think the Trials are finished after the gladers escaped the Maze, you thought wrong. Thomas and the rest of the gladers are put through yet, another trial that is even harsher than the first. If you are a big fan of the first book “The Maze Runner” Than you will devour “The Scorch Trials”. James Dashner the author, did an excellent job at starting the second book of the Maze Runner series with a big bang. He also did an amazing job with keeping his fans at the edge of their seat with all the unexpected turns in each chapter. Thomas is put through heart stopping changes that overcomes fans with disbelief.
In “The Scorch Trials” Thomas the main character grows from his experiences from the Maze. He still has many confusing questions that still need to be answer about his life before the Trials. Also, Thomas has to find a way to balance his love between two girls. Two new characters are introduced in this book which are great addition to the group of gladers. They added more variables in the trials and made the book more intense to read.
Overall, “The Scorch Trials” is fast past, with unexpected twists and turns I didn’t want to put it down. You feel like you're right next to the main character Thomas. WICKED makes it challenging to know who they should believe as the Gladers search for the safe haven. Non-stop action and you never know where Thomas and the Gladers will end up in each chapter. I love how this book ends and I can’t wait till I get my hands on the next book in this series “The Death Cure”!
