Take a Walk
I take a walk,
My body moves forward,
My mind moves back,
Back into the darkness,
From whence it emerged so long ago
Images of my friends,
They haunt me.
I can’t help but think.
What if I had begged them to stay.
But, even the fragments of them,
Dissipate too quickly
I’m alone now,
The only company I have is a choice
Will I stay in the dark or walk into the light?
I’ll choose the light, but not tonight.
