Self Identity
Just because I’m Asian
Doesn’t mean I know ancient Kung Fu secrets
 Doesn’t mean I’m a porcelain geisha
Doesn’t mean I’m shy or submissive

 Just because I’m Asian
Doesn’t mean I’m fragile and can’t be athletic
Doesn’t mean I’m an object, or an alien
Doesn’t mean we’re all the same China dolls

 Just because I’m Asian
Doesn’t mean I’m some sort of prodigy
 Doesn’t mean I’m conservative conformist
Doesn’t mean I’m perfect at everything

 Just because I’m Asian
Why does my skin define me?
 Who are you to judge?
 Why does it even matter?
I’m proud to be who I am.
