Two Sides
She could taste the salt from her swollen eyes,
Tears caught by her trembling lips.
Pieces of their memories,
Scattered throughout her thoughts.
Her sobbing was endless,
She was played like a fool.
Promises were made,
But were broken on this day.
His mind was made up
He held his head high.
His heartbeat remained steady,
Though beat for another’s love.
His hand grabbed for a drink,
His eyes captured the glance.
He wasn’t thinking clearly,
He knew where he wanted to be.
She was shattered
He felt no remorse
A love lost
As if it were a tragedy
