The door was open
so I peaked in to see
but the room was as empty as can be
Then fall, falling, and fell I went
all the way down the well I was sent

The door was open
and intrigued my curiosity
I should have stopped myself
before I got to see
what lied behind me

The door was open
and I stupidly stepped in
I felt like Alice
cause I almost fell forever

The door was open
and inside I went
with my nightmare's awaiting
I was a terrified little miss

The door was open
and inside I saw
the footsteps of something so very dark
so I crawled in a corner
and that was my first mistake

The door was open
to the room I was in
when it came quick as a dream
I didn't have time to scream

The door was open
I should have run out
silly, silly me
I didn't even say “help”

The door was open
and inside they got me
yes they got me
oh yes they did

The door was open
and I became one of them
who waits for kids like me
to step right in
The door was open
how I wish it wasn't
as I saw the next victim
ready to come in

The door was open
as the foot raised to step
I just had enough humanity left
that I shoved her back
through the door and shut it tight
to save her life

The door was closed
and she was saved
from the horrible mistake
I had made
but at least they didn't take her away
