Look at Me, Momma.
Look at me, Momma!
I’m right here in front of you,
Tears growing impatient.
Momma, I need you.
Oh, I see, Momma;
He’s with you now.
That’s okay, I guess,
But I love you.
Momma! I need help.
Can you come, please?
I’m your daughter.
You can call him back later.
I’m sorry for being selfish,
But I really miss you.
Momma, do you hear me?
Look at me!
I’m your family, Momma, not him,
But I guess you don’t care.
It’s fine, neither do I.
I’ll be in my room.
Look Momma, look here.
I’ve built up this wall,
Blocking you out,
So you can be with him.
This wall blankets my feelings
With sarcasm and cold stares.
Now you don’t have to deal with me, Momma.
Aren’t you glad?
I love you, Momma,
And maybe this wall will crash down someday,
But for now it remains standing
Just like you and him.
