Finally
I walked outside my freshly-painted green front door right into a wall of heat and humidity.
Great, I guess it’s going to be one of those kinds of days.
I began walking on the concrete curb along the edge of the sidewalk, right next to the road.
If I fall off, I’m going to look like an idiot.
After a while, I reached the dirt corridor sandwiched between two fences surrounding two brick houses.
They really need to cut the grass here; it’s getting out of control.
The slender, twisted, dirt lane followed an unseen path through the identical houses.
I would hate running in to anyone here, this path is barely wide enough for one person.
I checked my watch and looked up at the sky.
It looks like it’s going to rain. I hope I’m not too late.
Finally the vegetation started thinning and I could see the end of the path up ahead.
Good, I’ll be there soon.
The path finally ended at a large field with short, green, pungent grass, and random patches of vibrant wildflowers.
It should be just over this hill here.
I began to run to the other side of the field, ignoring the exquisite flowers, making it just in time.
Finally.
