If You See Her
If you see her,
tell her I miss her.
That the snow falling on her nose
will not last as long
as my love for her.
If you see her,
tell her that I’ve been running after her,
like Jack and Jill down the hill.
Only I want to fetch her,
not a pail of water.
Tell her I remember her scent.
Like the cold air
flowing through the autumn breeze.
If you see her,
confess to her I wrote a song.
A song made out of our last vague moments.
The song being the symphony I sing
while laying on her empty side of the bed.
If you see her,
tell her she was my light.
She guided me home
when the present was too foggy
and unclear.
Please tell her,
that when tears fall from her eyes,
I will be there.
I will be the tissue
to catch all the droplets.
If you see her,
tell her I will love her
every single day of my life.
That I will not chase her anymore,
but let her go.
