A jolt of freezing electricity shot threw my body
As I listened to our laughter bubble up from the depths
Of the lake and float across the surface
The splash from our leap razed like icy crystals
That sparkled in the moonlight

The sand on the beach seemed to glow a white mist
Against the black drop of the forest
Filled with ferns and Red Oaks
The smell of fresh pine swirled across the water top
Waltzing with the wind
The water around me covered my body in a numbing sensation
But it kept me awake
It kept me focused
I wanted to remember everything in this moment

My heart was pounding out of my chest
My cheeks were turning red
Your eyes peeled me open and searched into my soul
Everything inside me seemed to thaw
Dissolve into mush
The air around me felt thin and smooth
This was my first taste of
The bitter sweetness of love
