Everyone yearns to be loved
to be embraced, not shoved
We always speak of better days
so why not make that day today?
I am done standing by
I am done watching them cry
Today, I stand for something greater
I’m through with excuses and waiting for later
I speak with kind words and look with loving grace
and hope that my love will help their wounds erase
