America I've given you all and now I'm nothing-Allen Ginsberg

We watched the parade together
Her and Me
The floats pass by
Reigniting old triumphs and tragedies
Molding a bigger divide between
Us
The moments in the sun
In the school yard
Under the oak tree
From the first time she grabbed my hand
To the last time she kissed my lips
From the first laughs
To the final tears
The days we felt free became
Lost in the days of the mundane
I was losing ground
She was losing faith
I was looking for a fight
She had a devil on her shoulder
I was heading to the Old North
She was heading to the Sunshine State
I was looking for an exit
She was looking for a sunset

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece after a nearly 7 year relationship. I wrote this piece because I was just sad all the time holding all of this emotion in. So I decided to write it as an outlet. I hope that this piece will help people through some of their personal problems and mostly I hope they are entertained and show intrigue in my writing.
