A girl's life

A young girl sits on her bed,
Thoughts of death reigning in her head
Slipping
She walks into her school
The one with far too many rules
Slipping
She gets pushed down by a girl,
Causing her head to whirl
Slipping
She sits down with a sigh,
Letting out a silent cry
Slipping
She got an F on her test,
Silently she prays to be put to rest
Slipping
She walks home in the cold
Feeling alone and very old
Slipping
The girl waits ‘til night
Finds a noose
Ties it tight
Slipping
She wraps it around her neck
Then her balance goes off check
Flashes of memories go through her mind
Wait! She doesn’t want to die…
Slipping
Black
Light
The noose, slipping
Breath fills her lungs and light
Gives her the fight
She needs……
Life!

This poem is about my battle with depression, and my ability to overcome it and move on, and I am in a much healthier place now, so really speaks to how I could overcome!
