I've got 2 minutes 30 to show them what i've got;
to show them its a sport,
to show them that its hard work,
to show them that its determination,
to prove to them its not what they assume.
I have 2 minutes 30 seconds to show them who I am;
that broken bones, black eyes, dislocated knees, sweat and tears are worth it because competitive cheerleading is my life and my pride.
so 2 minutes and 30 is more than enough for me.

I've done gymnastics for thirteen years and competitive cheer for three. A month ago i dislocated my knee and i couldn't walk let alone cheer on my level 5 team. it made me realize how important cheer really was to me and when my doctor suggested sideline cheer as if it were the same thing it made me realize that people really don't realize the difference. I urge people to google teams like cali smoed or topgun level 5 and see that cheer isn't always backed by a football team but about displaying athletic ability and showmanship. cheer is a sport that is gaining respect and popularity around the world and i hope that people learn to respect it as much as i do.
