The Man
I sang to the universe:
"Will you explain please?
I'm ever so confused!"
I ponder.
I stretch, foot tapping, eyes wide, ear drums sizzling off-beat.
An unknown noise comes from the distance.
"Could it be you, God?"
Nothing.
"HELLO."
Is God real?
Is God unreal?
The birds chirp loudly
louder
LOUDER
"Shut your tiny bird mouths!" I HOLLER
I Holler
I holler
i holler.
I amend:
"I'm sorry."
I pretend:
"That was rude of me."
I contend:
"It won't happen again"
I turn away, dust fills my lungs and I
sigh.
The universe turns to me, its body shifting slowly. Is it in pain?
It asks:
"Which part?"
