The sun beats down,
warming our skin.
This is our time,
the time of no worries,
no fears.
The time of sitting like prisoners,
held captive by the endless white walls,
is over.
We are free again.
No more schedules,
following all the rules.
No more waking up early,
to pretend we care.
Walking around like zombies,
tired and mindless.
We know that it will all end,
we must go back,
But, it doesn’t matter.
To us summer
is endless.
