The Power of Words

I can't say it
the words are too powerful
too strong
giving them a voice gives them life
makes the wild demons real

Deep breath
concentrate
I-
no, the demons are rising
if I am silent they are trapped
if I am silent, they are nothing

so I board up my mouth
leave cobwebs where the vowels formed
let my consonants rust up
and my voice collect dust

Who knew words were so strong?
