The Angel

When she speaks my heart flutters.
Her voice is smooth and beautiful like white silk, lacy and soft. Her words flow together in perfect harmony as they cloud my brain with serenity.
When she speaks I struggle to grasp every word she murmurs, yet I hold on to each breath she takes between her beautiful thoughts.
When she speaks her whispers are as light as a feather drifting in the wind.
Slowly, softly, then it's gone.
I blink and roll over, the angel has departed my mind.
The best dreams always end too soon, seizing the light my angel sheds upon me, leaving me in the dark breathless and alone.
