Trying to avoid

It was only him,
his board,
his thoughts
and a large ocean.
The wind in his face,
freedom,
like fish in the water.
It was his place,
he knew what to do,
he had the skills.
He could feel the wind
on his face;
the water,
splashing and carrying him,
the sun going through his skin,
the taste
of the saltiness of the water.
It was everything that he wanted
In the perfect moment
but something
was still empty
and only he knew,
it was staying that way.
