With Big Framed Glasses
With big framed glasses
And arms full of texts books and scars
She stumbles on starved legs
Her eyes are cast down
As she is pushed from class
To class
Sitting in her history class
She listens to stories of the dead
And she dreams of the day
That she will join them
But how there will be no books
Written on her
Because she’s the quietly broken
The invisibly scarred
She walks
Through a full hallway
Though inside she is empty
She listens
As the school bustles with life
Though inside she is dead
