Same Boat
We’re in the same boat
Inside me I have so much hate and shame
And whenever I see you I treat you the same
Like garbage, and I don’t even have a good reason as to why
Because since I was a kid, and still up to now you’ve always been by my side
It’s hard for you, I know trying to help raise me without a father
Where is he? He doesn’t have a dollar to offer
Wishing whoever wrote our life story was a different author
Dad left us in the same boat
With nothing to give, contribute or say
Just walked away
You’ve done and sacrificed so much for me
I know I might seem like its nothing, or I don’t notice
At times my attitude leaves you hopeless
But the truth is none of what you do for me goes un noticed
I wouldn’t have made it this far in my life without you
I also know I don’t say or show it enough but I DO love you
So grab a paddle, I’ll grab the other
No matter how strong the tide
We can still row and ride
In the same boat.
