I wish I could say that I saw this coming.
Through the haze I didn’t see the danger.
You said you wouldn’t hurt me.
I wish I could say that this was just a bad dream.
You blinded me and shielded me from the danger;
The danger of the outside world,
But you left me exposed to your attack.
I wish I could say that this was a lie.
While I sit here crying,
I wish I could say that it’s from something else.
I wish you hadn’t hurt me.
I wish I hadn’t loved you.
