Old Truck
The old beat up truck;
Blue and white in color;
Worn down by miles traveled.
The huge hole in the driver’s seat
And the dent in the tailgate;
Both flaws of that old truck.
But I remember it for the good times we had.
I can still feel the wind rushing through the window.
Dad would let me sit on his lap and drive;
The windows down, short legs dangling, hair flying.
I recall the simple things.
