Had I Known
If I had been told.
If I had known,
then maybe life would've been different.
If anyone had told me
I'd be the Unfaithful Thembeka
my name would've been sin.
If anybody had told me
that friends would become enemies
I'd have never sought friendship.
If anyone had told me
that Earth would be like Hell,
the Moon I would've called home.
If I had known
that words were swords,
my thoughts I would've kept as none else but thoughts.
But,
these things I did not know
until the day I wrote this poem.
