Waking up
Waking up is the worst part. When you fall into the dreamworld, the perfect world where you can control everything, nothing can get to you, nothing can hurt you if you don't want it to. Waking up is a shock, ice water to your face, a kite in a thunderstorm. Waking up forces you to be aware, a grain of nothing controlled by your surroundings. Waking up makes you a helpless spectator to the misfortunes of others. Waking up steals the infantile joy from your soul, day after day. If waking up is the worst part, staying awake is the hardest.
