She had time.

I have this best friend of mine,
Who has a voice divine,
She has a heart of gold,
She's the perfect mold.

Her voice lifts spirits,
Any type and kind,
She takes care of worthless souls,
And one of those was mine.

She cared and fixed,
The impossible things,
She made him feel secure,
She always made his day,
At any time in any way.

She found a broken soul,
Who was so done,
Who was so cold.

He'd been Betrayed,
And treated like dirt,
He was so alone and hurt.

He tried to be perfect,
to satisfy there wants,
He'd been kicked, punched, and knocked around, why should he be alive?

He thought that for a long time,
But"Things will change!"
They all shouted,
But in secret they wanted him dead.

He was there,
All the time of pain was done,
He never even knew the true meaning of the word fun.

It was that night,
It would be his last,
He couldn't wait for it to pass,
He hoped it would go fast.

He thought no one cared,
He wasn't worth a dime,
but she came and picked him up,
She did more than enough,
She opened his barriers,
She tore down his walls,
Opened his heart,
And cared for all the parts.

She didn't use him for one part or another,
She cared for all of him.
She understood him,
She saved him.

And today he stands up,
cause he's had enough,
And I couldn't thank God enough,
She took time.
