Some hearts are glass—
Fragile—
Some are gold
they stand out
and are precious and rich

Some hearts are diamonds
they’re bright
shiny—
People love diamonds
they’re pretty much indestructible
very few things can hurt them.

Some hearts are titanium
not even bullets can pierce
through them

Then there are some hearts
that look to be made of steel
but are really glass just coated
in a strong metal to make
them look strong
but in reality
if you slipped
and dropped them
they would seem undamaged
from the outside
but in the inside they’re all broken

No matter what
the heart looks like on the outside
You should still be careful with them
you never know how fragile
they actually are
