Shattering Sky
The sky is breaking
Shattering, taking
Away my joy
And leaving me lying
On the ground
Like a useless broken toy
That a child throws on the ground
When it is worn down
And has seen its last glimpse of their childhood
I can only watch
As everything I’ve known
Is in ruins
Like the old toy
Thrown in the chest
Glimpsing through the cracks
And viewing the new
And reminiscing upon the old
Wishing for the change
To change back
And never acting
Always just watching
Hoping
Praying
