Henry David Thoreau

John Green

Before,
My self-destruction
Never hurt
Anyone
But myself.

But now,
The bomb has resurrected into something
Dangerous;
It
Tick
Tick
Ticks
Relentlessly
By our hearts.
I tell myself
To hold it in, keep it hidden,
So that afterward,
When the ticking stops,
No one gets
Hurt
By
The shrapnel.

Woah! Short but effective. I love the way you wrote the lines in short sentences, really nice work. =)

A certain darkness is needed to see the stars.

Great poem, the kind you through against the wall then pick back up again.
