The Mirror
Blue. All I see is blue.
It's like eternity
Filled with life,
Hope. Love.
Curiosity.
She's walking
Those big blue eyes of hers
Taking in the world, step...
By clumsy step.
Her hair
Shimmering gold
Her smile
Filled with happiness.
She smells like the air after rain:
Subtle.
Or the light ocean breeze.
Or the scent of the forest:
Earthy. Quiet.
Her moods
All different from one another:
Calm, energetic, happy.
But- there is one emotion that is always there.
Loneliness.
She calls and calls for someone-
Anyone.
To teach her.
To show her- the meaning of life
The meaning of love
Death.
Pain.
She cries out to the skies
Those blue, open heavens.
But..
It was quiet.
Keeping its secrets
The girl would sit in the green grass
And stare at the ground.
Her face scrunched up in a pout.
She wept.
The skies wept with her.
She was alone.
Only the blue sky to her comfort her.
The sounds that she made were heard
By the blue above.
But it never responded to her cries of desperation.
Of sorrow. Loneliness.
Anguish.
The sky listened.
But never spoke.
She had enough of the skies up above her.
She hated the color blue.
The skies continued to hold its blank expression.
She bent down
Picked up a rock
And threw it as hard as she could.
Towards that empty color that betrayed her.
The rock disappeared.
Into the emptiness.
The girl began to cry.
The rock betrayed her too.
But...
The sky suddenly shattered.
All the pieces rained down.
She picked up a shard of the sky.
It reflected the grass.
It was a mirror.
She lifted it to her face.
But there was nothing to be seen.
All was blue.
