The car ride to the stars
The moment I hear the keys ring,
I would run to get dressed.
I love the feeling of the engine roaring,
The cold rainy nights were the best.
My warm breath on the window,
As I watch the rain runs down.
Seeing the light flash by
Lighting never scared me,
Lightning is too pretty to scare me.
I would roll down the window to feel the rain,
The rain would hit my hand so softly.
It was so cold sometimes,
But in a hot car it was nice.
On the nights where it wasn’t raining,
I would stare at the moon.
I would watch it as if it would fall or rise from where it was,
The world would slow down as i stared.
Sometimes we would drive so fast,
That I thought we might just take off.
I would think about the poem,
Called Star Light, Star Bright.
I would say it over and over.
I just wanted one wish,
To fly to the stars.
