Skipping Stone

My life can be told
By a skipping stone,
Bouncing on salt water
Up and down and--
Under.
I always made waves,
Disturbed the
Silence
Around me.
As a child,
I hollered
As a teen,
I spoke
And people listened--
Until I,
Losing my
Desperation,
went under,
Became smooth and
Silent--
Like the world around me.
